The City Council meets on the second and fourth Tuesdays every month, at the City Council Chambers in City Hall, located at  One Twin Pines Lane, Belmont, CA. Scroll down the page to see a list of meetings. Meetings can be viewed on Cable Channel 27 in Belmont, or viewed online. (Archived meetings will be uploaded within 48 hrs of the completion of the meeting.)

Davina Hurt (Mayor)

Mayor Davina Hurt has resided in Belmont for a little over a decade. Davina was elected to the City Council in November 2015 and is currently serving her first term. Davina is a graduate of Baylor University and Santa Clara University School of Law and has been a practicing attorney since 2005 with a focus on property and corporate law. Additionally she studied at University of Strasbourg- International Institute of Human Rights- Strasbourg, France. Davina sits as a Chair on a California Department of Consumer Affairs board, as well as various political and legal associations. Prior to her election, Davina served as the Vice Chair of the Planning Commission, Belmont Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors (Past Vice-President and Secretary), City of Belmont High Speed Rail Ad Hoc Committee, and the Downtown Belmont Villages Committee.

Warren Lieberman (Vice Mayor)

Vice Mayor Warren Lieberman is currently serving his third term as Belmont Councilmember. He is President of a consulting and software development firm that specializes in Revenue Management and Dynamic Pricing. He holds a PhD in Operations Research from Yale University and has lived with his family in Belmont for more than 20 years.  Warren served as Mayor in 2007-2008 and again in 2013 – 2014.  Warren began his municipal government career as a Finance Commissioner appointee in June 2000, serving as Commission Chair from 2002 – 2005.

Julia Mates

Julia Mates has lived in Belmont for 12 years. She was appointed to the City Council in January 2018 and elected in November 2018 and served on the Planning Commission prior to that. Julia is a graduate of Washington High School in San Francisco, UCLA, and Cal State Sacramento, where she obtained her Master’s degree in History/Public History. She has worked as a Historian and Cultural Resources Specialist consultant for over 17 years, where she acquired skills and experience in land use planning.

Charles Stone

Charles Stone is a lifelong resident of San Mateo County and an 1-year resident of Belmont, elected to the City Council in November 2013, currently serving his first term. Charles has his own solo law practice focusing on civil litigation. He is a graduate of Hillsdale High School, UC San Diego, and Santa Clara University School of Law. Prior to his service on the council, Charles served on the School-Force! Board of Directors. He currently serves on the SamTrans Board of Directors.

Doug Kim

Doug Kim was born and raised on the Peninsula and works as the Director of Planning at SamTrans. He started his volunteer municipal government career at Belmont as a Planning Commission member in 2012 and served as Commission Chair in 2014 -2015. Doug was elected to the City Council in November 2015.  He also serves on the Board of the Housing Endowment and Regional Trust (HEART) of San Mateo County and represents Belmont and the 20 cities in San Mateo County on the Bay Area Air Quality Management District (BAAQMD).
