Home MenuTraffic Calming Program
City Council approved a new Traffic Calming Program (TCP) on July 9, 2024, to enhance neighborhood safety and reduce speeding. This initiative aims to address traffic-related concerns through a variety of measures designed to slow down vehicular traffic and create safer streets for pedestrians and cyclists.
The Traffic Calming Program includes a range of strategies such as speed cushions, curb extensions, roundabouts, and enhanced crosswalks. The program is part of the City's broader effort to improve road safety and quality of life for residents.
Residents can submit a request form for traffic calming to the Parking & Traffic Safety Committee (PTSC). These requests will be reviewed by the PTSC to determine if their street meets the minimum requirements. If it is determined that the requirements have been met, residents will need to submit a Petition For Traffic Calming signed by affected neighbors. Please refer to the Implementation Process Chart for more details or go to p. 15 of the TCP.
