City Council Intergovernmental Assignments

City Councilmembers serve in a variety of roles that extend beyond their regular Council duties. These include participation on regional boards, intergovernmental committees, policy bodies, and liaison assignments that support the City’s interests at local, countywide, and regional levels.

Councilmembers also serve on several City subcommittees that provide guidance on focused policy or operational areas.

These assignments are typically reviewed and updated each year following the annual reorganization of the City Council or upon the seating of newly elected members. The City Council last updated its external and internal assignments on December 9, 2025, based on Councilmember interest and availability.
