To report an abandoned vehicle, you can call the Abandoned Vehicle Hotline at (650) 595-7455.  This is a voice mail system, which will advise you of the procedures for reporting and towing abandoned vehicles.  You will need to provide the following required information:

·  Your name, address, and phone number

·  The location/address of the vehicle

·  The make, model, color, and license plate of the vehicle

The information you report to the hotline will be processed and marked the following business day.  The vehicle will be checked after 72 hours has expired.  Should the expiration fall on a weekend or holiday, the vehicle will be checked on the following business day.  The California Vehicle Code states a vehicle is abandoned if it moves less than 1/10th of mile in a 72-hour period.  If an officer determines the vehicle is abandoned, the vehicle will be towed.
