Get Involved in Local Government!

Belmont residents grades 7th - 12th may apply for two-year terms. Applications are open year-round, and interviews are conducted in late Aug./early Sept. To apply, please complete the application.

The Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) is a forum for teens to increase their civic engagement by working directly with adults and providing their perspective on real issues facing the City of Belmont. Students get involved in local government, socialize, and debate hot topics while preparing themselves for college and life beyond. 

The YAC meets twice a month to discuss current events and plan future projects and hosts a number of events throughout the academic year. Supervision of the group is provided by the Parks and Recreation Staff.
