GROUP SWIM LESSONS (25 min classes)
Monday-Friday Lesson Schedule:
Session I (6/17-6/28) $100 Resident / $110 non-resident

Group Swim Lesson Times: AM: 10:00, 10:30, 11:00, 11:30 PM: 3:00, 3:30, 4:00, 4:30
Pre-Beginner I: This class is designed to familiarize students with water safety and enhance a feeling of comfort in the pool.
PREREQUISITES: 3-5 years old and 24” shoulder height with no previous experience.
Pre-Beginner II: This class will further develop students’ knowledge of water safety and increase the development of water skills.
PREREQUISITES: 3-5 years old and completed Pre-Beginner I or can front float and swim 15 feet on stomach.
Level I: This class helps students feel comfortable in the water while creating a solid foundation of aquatic safety skills.
PREREQUISITES: Pre-Beginner II skills or 6 years old with no previous experience.
Level II: Instruction includes rhythmic breathing, floating, finning, arm strokes, turning over, deep water exploration, retrieve underwater objects and safety skills.
PREREQUISITES: Level I skills or demonstrate front and back float.
Level III: Instruction includes front crawl, back crawl, elementary backstroke, treading water, diving, bobbing and safety skills.
PREREQUISITES: Level II skills and adjusted to deep water; demonstrate front and back crawl for 5 yards.
Level IV: Instruction includes refinement of front crawl and back crawl, alternate kicks for treading water, basics of breaststroke, sidestroke, turns, diving, endurance-building, introduction to CPR, rescue breathing and other safety skills.
PREREQUISITES: Level III skills at twice the distance; demonstrate front and back crawl for 10 yards, elementary backstroke for 5 yards, basic dive and treading water.
Level V: Instruction focuses on alternate breathing, stride jump, swimming for distances, open turns, increased endurance and skill treading water, feet-first surface dives and advanced safety skills.
PREREQUISITES: Level IV skills at twice the distance; demonstrate front and back crawl for 20 yd, elementary backstroke for 10 yd, and breaststroke and sidestroke for 5 yd.
Pre-Swim Team (45 min classes)
Session I (6/17-6/28) $135 Resident / $145 non-resident

Session III (7/15-7/26) $135 Resident / $145 non-resident
Times: 10:10am, 3:10pm and 4:10pm
This class is for students who have successfully completed Level V. Instruction includes enhanced efficiency and stroke mechanics, endurance and conditioning, repetitive drills to develop the ability to swim continuously for 500 yards using a combination of strokes and treading water for 5 minutes.
PREREQUISITES: Must have passed Level V with the ability to demonstrate all Level V requirements, swim continuously for 100 yd (4 lengths of the pool) and tread water for 2 min.
Lap and Recreation Swim
June 17 - August 2, 2019 (weekdays only)
Lap Swim: 12:00pm - 2:50pm (closed 7/4)
Rec Swim: 1:00-2:50pm (closed 7/4)
Fee: $5.00 per person (cash or check); 10 visit pass - $45; 20 visit pass - $85
Anyone entering the aquatics facility during lap/rec swim must pay an admission fee.
Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult at all times within arms reach.
Swimmer Aide Program | Ages 13-17
Calling all Swimmer Aides! If you are looking to gain great skills in teaching swimming lessons, stroke technique, lifesaving skills while gaining community service hours for school, then come join the Belmont Aquatics Staff this Summer!
Located at Carlmont High School Pool, Swimmer Aides will assist staff in swim lessons while learning life skills. This is a great segway into becoming a Lifeguard and Swim Instructor!
Applications are due Friday, May 10th, 2019 by 5:00pm.
Oral interviews will be scheduled between Tue., 5/21 - Wed., 5/22
Water Polo Camp
Fee: $75 Resident / $85 non-resident
Water polo teaches important life skills such as teamwork and water safety. In this unique and fun camp, participants will learn the proper techniques of treading water, swimming with their heads up, and will develop passing and shooting skills. At the end of the week, kids can demonstrate these newly acquired skills to family and friends.
