In 2023, Belmont Poet Laureate Monica Korde stationed an interactive installation at the Belmont Library, encouraging all to look inwards for love and contribute messages of self-love, self-acceptance, and self-compassion. To engage a wider audience, Ms. Korde also took the installation on the road, bringing it to the annual Celebrate the Music Festival in Twin Pines Park.

 

Following the project, Ms. Korde compiled a community poem using all the donated words and messages. Check out the compiled poem and project photos below.

 

This initiative was a part of Ms. Korde's "Project POETRY 360," aimed as bringing poetry to the people of Belmont (and beyond) throughout the month of April in honor of National Poetry Month.
