The City of Belmont joined the  Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Green
Power Partnership to help reduce the negative health impacts of air
emissions through the use of green power through the following efforts:

🌎Belmont adopted its comprehensive Climate Action Plan (CAP) in November 2017 and is dedicated to decreasing municipal emissions and creating an economically and environmentally sustainable future.

🌎The City upgraded to Peninsula Clean Energy's ECO100 option, which provided 100% renewable energy for all of the City's municipal accounts.  The ECO100 environmental benefits is equivalent to carbon sequestered by 17 tree seedlings grown for 10 years for an average household!

🌎The City of Belmont has been a member of the Peninsula Clean Energy, a local "Community Choice" initiative that operates Peninsula Clean Energy since the program inception in 2016.

🌎Peninsula Clean Energy is an alternative renewable electricity provider, bringing local residents and businesses a choice for their electric service.  In addition to green power procurement, Peninsula Clean Energy facilitates programs to encourage energy efficiency measures and local distributed generation.
