GFOA Distinguished Budget Presentation Award
The Finance Department is pleased to report that the City has been awarded the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for the FY 2022 Budget. The award represents a significant achievement by the City and reflects the commitment of the City Council and staff to meeting the highest principles of governmental budgeting. Budget documents that receive this award are considered to be excellent examples for other governments throughout North America. Belmont’s FY 2022 Budget was newly revamped this year with a new design, new structure, and enhanced content in a number of areas. This year marks the first time in Belmont’s history that the City has ever received a budget award.

Apply for A City Commission
The City of Belmont is currently recruiting residents interested in serving on the Parks and Recreation and City Planning Commissions. The Planning Commission meets the first and third Tuesdays of the month at 7:00 p.m. The Commission reviews and acts on planning applications and makes recommendations to the City Council on zoning and land use issues. There are two openings on the Planning Commission. Parks and Recreation Commission meets the first Wednesday of the month at 7:00 p.m. and makes recommendations to the City Council on matters pertaining to Belmont’s Park and Recreation programs, as well as on capital improvements to the City’s various parks and open space areas.
