City Manager's Update on CA High Speed Rail Project EIR
The California High-Speed Rail Authority (Authority) launched an online web portal for the San Francisco to San Jose project section. The new portal is designed to help the public better understand the Draft Environmental Impact Report/Environmental Impact Statement (EIR/EIS) released July 10, 2020. The Draft EIR/EIS, the second and final project-level Draft EIR/EIS in Northern California, studies high-speed rail upgrades along the Caltrain corridor between San Francisco and San Jose. With the release of the San Francisco to San Jose Project Section Draft Environmental Impact Report/ Environmental Impact Station (EIR/EIS) the High Speed Rail Authority is informing the public that the document is available for review and comment during the 45-day public comment period.
While originally planning to hold in-person open houses in San Francisco, Redwood City, and Santa Clara the flyer provided here announces the transition of those engagements to online formats due to the public health and safety requirements concerning the coronavirus (COVID-19).
The Authority is launching an online open house platform, www.MeetHSRNorCal.org, that will be available throughout the public comment period and will host webinar sessions at the previously scheduled open house times.
