Investigation Continues into Belmont Shooting

The investigation into the fatal shooting on Monday night in Belmont, is continuing. While no suspects have been arrested in connection with the shooting, a number of promising leads are being pursued.
On Tuesday, January 8, 2019, Belmont Police investigators working in cooperation with the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office and the Pleasanton Police Department served a search warrant at a residence in the City of Pleasanton. This is one of several search warrants that have been served around the Bay Area in connection with this investigation. Three individuals were detained at the Pleasanton location, however no arrests were made.
Belmont Police and allied agency investigators continue to interview witnesses and follow leads as they are developed, and additional search warrants are anticipated. Specific information regarding leads or items seized is not being released due to the dynamic and on-going nature of this investigation.
The Belmont Police would like to thank the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office, San Mateo County District Attorney's Office, San Mateo Police Department and Pleasanton Police Department, as well as other agencies from around the Bay Area who are assisting with this investigation.
