Investigators Seek Driver of SUV As Possible Witness in Woman's Death
Contact: Captain Patrick Halleran, Public Information Officer - Belmont Police and Fire Departments (650) 595-7430
Investigators are looking for the driver of a small newer gray SUV, as a possible witness, in the case of a 61 year old Belmont woman who was found with fatal injuries on Cipriani Blvd earlier this week.
Belmont Police investigators continue to look into the circumstances which led up to the woman being found with fatal injuries at approximately 7:00AM on Monday 11/12/18, in the southbound lane of Cipriani Blvd, just south of Newlands Ave. Investigators have been interviewing witnesses and reviewing security camera video from homes in the area, in an effort to determine how the woman was injured. A report, from the San Mateo County Coroner's Office, regarding the woman's cause of death is still pending.
Investigators are trying to find the driver of a small gray SUV (appears to by a newer model Toyota RAV4) that was captured on home security cameras, driving in the area where the woman was found. It appears that the SUV passed the location where the woman was found, approximately 1 minute prior to her being discovered in the roadway. A composite video, made up of images from different security cameras, has been posted on the Belmont Public Safety YouTube Channel (www.youtube.com/belmontpublicsafety). The video shows that the SUV drove north on Cipriani Blvd (first part of the video) and then turned onto westbound Newlands Ave (second part of the video).
The driver of the SUV may be a witness. If you are this driver or have information on the driver, contact Belmont PD at (650) 595-7400 or email@example.com.
