Woman Arrested After Collisions with Car and House
Contact: Captain Patrick Halleran, Public Information Officer - Belmont Police & Fire Departments (650) 595-7430
A Belmont woman was arrested for DUI early this morning, after she collided with a parked car and a house. The woman was subsequently transported to an area hospital as a precaution.
On Thursday, 9/6/18 at approximately 6:25am, Belmont Police and Fire units responded to a report of a vehicle which had driven into the front of a home in the 2000 block of Monroe Avenue. Upon arrival, first responders found a 2014 Nissan Versa had backed into the front porch area of the home. The driver, Denise Adams age 42 of Belmont, was contacted at the scene and was subsequently arrested without incident for driving under the influence. Officers determined that Adams had been driving in the 2000 block of Monroe Avenue and turned into a residential driveway, possibly in an effort to make a 3-point turn. As she did so, Adams struck a 2001 Acura that was parked in the driveway. After striking the Acura, Adams backed up, going across the street and down the driveway of another home where she collided with the front of the residence and came to rest.
After her arrest, Adams complained of unspecified injuries and was treated by Belmont Fire Department paramedics. She was transported to an area hospital as a precaution and was released on a citation for DUI. The case is being submitted to the San Mateo County District Attorney for prosecution.
