Belmont Fire Department recently was re-formed after a 32-year absence due to the dissolution of a consolidated department known as Belmont-San Carlos Fire Department (formerly South County Fire Authority). In April of 2010 the City of San Carlos gave notice to terminate and dissolve the department. We have spent the last 18 months doing just that.
