Traffic Advisories

NNOWe understand your time is precious, so we are planning to provide you with up to date information so you have greater control over your drive, with insights that allow you to discover the best route so you can save time.  

We are bringing you the traffic advisory weekly updates on currently known roadway and related projects, and private utility work (based on street encroachment permits), to provide you an opportunity to look ahead, plan your travel times and check delays due to various street activities. 

 

Caltrans

 El Camino Real @ Ruth Avenue

Caltrans continues construction on El Camino Real for the Traffic Lighting System Improvement Upgrade Project.

One lane will remain open at all times in both directions during construction. Motorists should allow for extra travel time and expect minor delays. Changeable Message Signs will be in place to warn motorists of this work.

NOTE: Residents and Businesses may notice increased noise from mandatory backup alarms while the contractor is working in the construction zone.

  Ralston Avenue (Alameda to east of Cipriani) 
  May 22-September 2017 
  Possible Lane Closure   

 Starting Monday, May 22, PG&E will be working to replace 3,700 feet of their gas pipeline  on Ralston Avenue between Alameda de las Pulgas and Cipriani Boulevard. The  replacement  of a 4-inch pipeline with a 6-inch pipeline is part of an effort to increase  capacity of  Belmont’s natural gas system.

TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Westbound Ralston Avenue from Alameda de las Pulgas to 1000 feet east of Cipriani Boulevard starting Monday, May 22nd until the end of September during non-commute hours. Please anticipate delays and possible lane closures. Be sure to allow extra time to get to your destination. Alternate routes are advised.

 HP Communications Inc. will be working on an existing utility pole near 2710 Ralston  Avenue.  The Number 2 lane (right lane) of westbound Ralston near this address will be  closed.  Traffic control will be in place.  Please anticipate minor delays. 


  Sharon Avenue (Between Alameda and Coronet Blvd)

 Bay Pacific Pipelines, the City's sewer contractor will be conducting work on the sewer  main as part of the 2016 Sewer Rehabilitation Project.  Through traffic allowed, flaggers  will be onsite for traffic control.

  Sidewalk Closed 24/7            
 

 Public Works Streets Division will be performing concrete work in the sidewalk area between South  Road and NDNU entrance from May 15-May 24.  During this time, the sidewalk will be closed 24/7.  Pedestrians will need to use sidewalk across the street.  We appreciate your patience during this time.  

 

  Ralston Avenue (Between South and NDNU entrance)

  Travel Restrictions-LANE SHIFTING         
 

 Public Works Streets Division will be performing concrete work in the sidewalk area between South  Road and NDNU entrance that will require taking a portion of lane in the eastbound direction.  The  crew will set up cones to create a lane shift for vehicles to go around the equipment.  Signage will be  in place. 

 

  Ralston Avenue (900 block in front of Walgreens)
  May 25   9:00AM-3:00PM
  Travel Restrictions-Sidewalk Closed      
 

 PG&E will be working on their existing gas facilities located in the sidewalk in front of Walgreens.    Sidewalk will be closed during work.  Please use pedestrian access across the street.

 

  Ralston Avenue (East of Hallmark Drive) 
  May 1-June 1

  8:00AM-5:00PM Saturdays
  Lane Closure   

 PG&E will be working on their gas facilities on Ralston Avenue (east of Hallmark Drive) in  the  sidewalk area and the right driving lane.  Traffic control will be in place.  Please  anticipate minor  delays.
