California Coastal Cleanup Day-Belmont Creeks to Bay
Saturday, September 16, 2017
Volunteers meet in front of City Hall @ One Twin Pines Lane, Belmont CA. 94002
Belmont Site Captain: Diane Lynn 650-595-7425 or firstname.lastname@example.org
Every year on the third Saturday in September, people join together at sites all over California to take part in the State’s largest volunteer event, California Coastal Cleanup Day.
This event is part of the International Coastal Cleanup, organized by the Ocean Conservancy.
Belmont’s waterways have been included in this event for many years, and we are proud to be a dedicated cleanup site for this event once again!
Last year, 148 Belmont volunteers collected 760 pounds of trash and recyclables in and around Belmont waterways. So, be sure to SAVE THE DATE and join your family, friends, school groups, neighbors, and organizational clubs to “GET RID OF TRASH, NOT WILDLIFE."
What you need to know when preparing for the event:
Fill out the Waiver Form in advance - For faster, easier sign-in, you can print out the waiver form, fill it out and bring it with you. ***Volunteers under the age of 18 must have the waiver form signed by a parent or legal guardian before participating.
Don't forget to BYOB-bring your own Buckets, gloves, and reusable water bottle and help reduce our footprint. If you don't have your own, there will be supplies available for volunteers.
During registration, please be patient as folks wait in line to go through the process. There will be a check-in, safety orientation, a list of local waters to select your cleanup location, and gathering of your supplies.
Be sure to bring your cameras! You can post your photos to the County-wide site for this years' Coastal Cleanup Day. Post photos with the hashtag #CCDSMC and tag @SMCHealth, and @BelmontCA_PWORK so we can share them on Facebook and Twitter.
