Welcome to the Belmont Fire Protection District. We are an “All-Risk” Department responding to more than 2,500 calls for service each year. Belmont Firefighters are trained to respond to all types of incidents, from structure fires, medical emergencies, wild land responses, hazardous materials responses, and public assists, just to name a few. Our Department provides 24-hour paramedic level response throughout the community from each of your two fire stations, Station 14 located at 911 Granada Street and Station 15 located at 2701 Cipriani Boulevard. We also provide Hazardous Materials Response for all 20 cities in San Mateo County as well as the County’s unincorporated areas. Our highly trained HAZMAT Team consists of twenty-two Hazardous Materials Specialists or Technicians of which seven members are on duty twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.
In 2011 the department was restructured following the dissolution of the consolidated department known as Belmont-San Carlos Fire Department (formerly South County Fire Authority). Since January 2013, the Belmont Fire Protection District has been successfully sharing fire management services with the cities of San Mateo & Foster City. This sharing of resources fits well with the current model of fire service delivery throughout the county, which includes utilizing a centralized dispatch center to send the closest resources to an emergency regardless of geographic boundaries.
