About our Parking & Traffic Safety Committee
This committee is comprised of senior members of the Department of Public Works, Police Department, and Fire Department. Residents are invited to attend the PTSC meeting to discuss their requests ranging from installation of traffic signs, red zones, traffic improvements, parking and speeding issues. The committee reviews conformance and guidelines, performs field investigation, checks accident data, and forwards recommendations to City Council.
About our Infrastructure Repair Ad-Hoc Committee
The Infrastructure Repair Ad-Hoc assists the City Council in identifying alternatives for funding the capital investment needed of the City’s infrastructure, selects and oversees the work of a public opinion pollster regarding a potential revenue measure, makes recommendations to Council based on the pollster’s survey results and provides guidance on post-survey electoral activities with respect to funding alternatives, if needed.
APPLYING FOR A VACANCY
Applications must be submitted to be considered for one of the Commissions. The City Council generally interviews for commission appointments in the spring. Youth applicants for the Parks and Recreation Commission must have a consent form signed by their Parent/Guardian at the time they submit their application. Applications may be obtained at the Belmont City Clerk's Office, One Twin Pines Lane, Suite 375, Belmont, CA 94002, or by calling (650)595-7413. Incumbent Commissioners are eligible to reapply for additional terms.
