EVENT

Belmont PD investigators arrested Andre Edwards of Hayward on a $200,000 warrant citing two felony counts of 288A PC (Annoying/Molesting a Child).  Investigators completed a thorough investigation following an allegation that the Ralston Middle School custodian groped a female student on campus in November of last year.  That investigation eventually uncovered additional information on a previously unsubstantiated allegation from 2001, which resulted in the second count. 

During the investigation Edwards separated employment from the School District and is no longer associated with the school.    The results of the four month long investigation were turned over to the San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office and an arrest warrant was issued yesterday.

Edwards was arrested today at his Hayward home without incident, and will be booked into Jail.
