Woman Arrested for DUI After Collision at School

A San Mateo woman was arrested for DUI after driving through the fence at Cipriani Elementary School earlier today. A child received minor injuries in the incident.
On Monday, 6/12/2017, at approximately 3:06 p.m. Belmont Police received several 911 calls regarding a car that had struck a child at Cipriani School. Police and Fire responded to the scene and found a Toyota Corolla had driven through the fence off Buena Vista Avenue and struck a student, before coming to rest near the school building. The student, an 11 year old boy from Belmont, was treated at the scene by Belmont Fire Department paramedics and transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The female driver, Evgeniya Martynova, age 64 of San Mateo is a nanny who had come to the school to pick up another student. An infant, who was a passenger in Martynova’s car, was not hurt. Martynova, also uninjured, was arrested for DUI and child endangerment. She was booked into the San Mateo County Jail in Redwood City.
